Research
The Moss Group aims to build a deep body of knowledge around issues pertaining to sustainability, particularly within the Southern African context. We believe that this knowledge and our resulting insights are very valuable to our clients as well as to the wider business community.
Every year, the Moss Group commissions research into a variety of topics that relate to the sustainability ‘conversation’ in South Africa. This year, we have focused on three main areas of interest:
- Sustainability considerations in investment decisions, particularly in the institutional investment environment [more...]
- Levels of integration of sustainability into corporate strategies and cultures [more...]
- Impact of sustainability issues on small, medium and micro enterprises (SMEs)
Our approach to research generally involves a combination of desktop study, academic literature review and field work. All of our projects focus heavily on engaging directly with as many relevant stakeholders as possible in our field work, so that we are able to gain a robust perspective of what is actually taking place on a day to day basis.
It is through sharing knowledge and insights that we believe we will have the greatest impact and be in a position to positively influence sustainability discussions and actions. As a result, we make the results of our research available in the public domain through presenting at conferences, holding seminars and events and publishing articles in both academic and popular media. Please contact us should you wish to see or hear more about our research projects and results.
