Arisaig Investment Company Project commissioned The Moss Group to conduct bespoke research on the ESG issues facing food retail in South Africa and how they could affect companies going forward.

The purpose of the study was to help the client understand the material issues and identify leaders in sustainability, so as to inform their engagements with the South African retail industry going forward.

With vast and deep experience of the retail sector, The Moss Group were well-positioned to lead the research along side global research company, Sustainalytics.

Our approach included desktop research, as well as one-on-one interviews using a focusing questionnaire.

The outcome was a report that Arisaig could use on a daily basis in their engagement with South African businesses to discern which businesses were sustainable and thus worth investing in.
