We’re on a mission to demystify strategy development. Strategy development shouldn’t be intimidating. Nor should it be an exercise that is done every 3-5 years by an Executive team and then forgotten about.
We therefore work hand-in-hand with our clients to develop strategies that they know they can implement well, that can motivate their people and that drive real change. We support our clients in embedding a strategic way of thinking into their business, so that it becomes a way of life and not just a process.
We have extensive experience developing business strategies for individual corporate clients.
Although much of our work is in the retail sector, our experience spans a diverse range of industries, from wine to healthcare. Social, environmental and economic sustainability objectives that align with the Sustainable Development Goals are common to all our strategies.
We are proud to have worked with several great South African brands in this space, including The SPAR Group, Johnson & Johnson and the Mr Price Group.
We also have experience developing industry-level or multi-party strategies.
These strategies tend to address multifaceted and complex challenges common to industry players across a particular sector.
Our varied and deep experience in strategy, facilitation and sustainable development is a powerful resource for industry bodies, cross-sector collaboration initiatives and other stakeholders. We combine content expertise and process facilitation to ensure that conversations are robust, actions are practical and buy-ins are achieved across various stakeholder groups.
The South African Textile and Apparel sector and the Wine industry have been two areas where we’ve had extensive involvement over the past 8 years.

The SPAR Group is one of our longest-standing clients. Our journey with SPAR has helped them become a truly sustainable business. While our core involvement has been consulting on strategy, we have helped SPAR with a number of other projects. We love working with the many entities that make up The SPAR Group, a company whose core values resonate with our own.
Under the mandate of the Southern African Sustainable Textile and Apparel Cluster (SASTAC), The Moss Group developed an industry-wide strategy for South Africa’s once-thriving Cotton Industry. Our approach saw players from across the value chain, from farm to retail, come together for the first time – a truly historic process and something which we were proud to have facilitated.
